This postgraduate course is designed to highlight collaborative research and clinical efforts in the field of prenatal diagnosis managed with maternal fetal surgery, across the spectrum of specialties required for optimizing care of the maternal fetal dyad affected with a prenatal diagnosis of a congenital difference. The forum will feature paradigms of team science by leveraging the strengths and expertise of professionals trained in multiple disciplines coming together for the purpose of optimizing obstetric and neonatal outcomes for the cohort of pregnant persons affected with diagnoses amenable to maternal fetal surgery. The course will feature pearls in prenatal diagnosis of structural anomalies mitigated by fetal surgery, highlight ongoing work, and encourage collaboration. This forum is designed to bring together those interested in maternal fetal medicine, clinical genetics, prenatal imaging, maternal fetal surgery, obstetric and fetal anesthesia, neonatology and pediatric surgery.

Learning Objectives:

  • Discuss pearls in the prenatal diagnosis of structural anomalies mitigated by maternal fetal surgery.
  • Demonstrate how collaboration between MFM and multiple subspecialties optimizes maternal and neonatal outcomes.
  • Illustrate ongoing innovations in field of maternal fetal surgery.
