Fetal Surgeon
Boston Children's Hospital
Boston, Massachusetts, United States
I joined Boston Children’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School as an attending physician with expertise in both fetal intervention and maternal-fetal-medicine.
I see my career built on three fundamental foundations: clinical work, research and education.
As for clinical work, my patients would always be my top priority. With a goal to provide the best service, I have striven to be a part of leading training programs. Following my training in Israel, to further develop my skills in fetal intervention, I sought additional training at a high-volume perinatal surgery fellowship program at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston, Texas. During this two-year clinical fellowship, I developed skills in the full breadth of fetal surgeries.
Research has always been my passion. I enjoy providing clinical care while advancing the field. I have been leading and participating in numerous clinical studies which have involved analyzing big data sources, revealing patterns, trends, and associations. In my studies I aim not only to add information to the existing data, but criticize conventions, offer new perspectives, strive to construct clinically applicable tools and recommendations.
In the field of medicine teaching and educating is eminent. Knowledge in medicine cannot be found solely in textbooks and recent publications, it is often only available by the patient’s bedside from senior mentors and colleagues. It is not only knowing the available literature but utilizing your knowledge in the best way to the specific patient, being a team player and respecting your environment. I put enormous efforts into teaching and mentoring medical students, residents and fellows.
Medicine as science evolves and progresses on a daily basis. My focus of interest is fetal medicine and therapy, while this field of medicine evolved over 2 decades ago, it still suffers from technical limitations. I seek to advance the field, with clinical and instrumental innovations.
