Cara C. Heuser, MD is an Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Utah Health Sciences Center and an attending physician at Intermountain Health. After medical school and residency at the University of Virginia, she completed her Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellowship at the University of Utah in 2011.
She is active in eduction of medical students, residents, and fellows. She actively participates in advocacy efforts at the local, state, and national level with a particular interest in reproductive rights and the interesection of family planning and maternal fetal medicine. She is the director of the Pregnancy Planning/Prevention and Risk Evaluation (PrePPARE) clinic at Intermountain Health, a service focused on providing comprehensive reproductive life planning care including preconception and complex contraceptive care.
In addition to professional activities, she enjoyes spending time with her family, serving as a living-donor ambassador for the United Network for Organ Sharing, reading voraciously, finding meaning in the absurditiy of existence, collecting memes, and various forms of mental and physical exertion.
