Antonio F. Saad, MD (he/him/his)

Dr. Saad is currently a Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology with expertise in Critical Care Obstetrics, Education, and Clinical research. He is also the Director of the MFM fellowship at INOVA Health Fairfax, VA.
He is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Critical Care, and Maternal-Fetal Medicine.
His primary duty as a high-risk obstetrician is caring for the most complicated obstetrical patients. He also supervises, performs, and interprets maternal-fetal sonograms and provides patient counseling for maternal and fetal conditions. He has participated in the critical care of postoperative patients after complex surgeries such as organ transplants and heart surgeries.
He has an active role in educating residents and fellows in different fields of medicine, including Anesthesia, Obstetrics, and Surgery.
Dr. Saad is actively involved in basic and clinical research and has mentored and supervised residents and fellows for many projects. He has published (or co-authored) numerous peer-reviewed manuscripts, textbook chapters, and reviews. He has presented many award-winning abstracts (as posters or oral presentations) at national and international meetings.
Dr. Saad is currently involved in several clinical trials. His research interest includes labor induction, critical maternal care, and the impact of fructose-rich diets on pregnancy and offspring. His work has been mentioned in the international and national media and has been cited numerous times, emphasizing its importance.
