Kim A. Boggess MD, Professor of Ob/Gyn and Maternal Fetal Medicine. My clinical and research expertise focuses on infectious and inflammatory complications of pregnancy. My prior accomplishments include preclinical and clinical studies defining the relationship between maternal oral infection, inflammation, and adverse pregnancy outcomes. I have successfully managed and conducted multi-center trials, funded by both the National Institutes of Health and by industry. I was co-I for an NHLBI-funded multicenter trial of hypertension treatment complicating pregnancy and thePI for an NICHD-funded multicenter trial of treatment of type 2 diabetes in pregnancy. In addition to my own research I am the co-Program Director for the UNC CTDA KL2 Career Development Training Program.
