Dr. Kiehl currently lives in Norfolk, Virginia, where he serves as the division chair for cardiovascular medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School and the director of cardiac electrophysiology research. He grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, where he completed his undergraduate studies at Washington University in St. Louis. He then attended medical school at Brown University, followed by residency in internal medicine at the University of Virginia and fellowships in both cardiovascular medicine and cardiac electrophysiology at Cleveland Clinic. His specific clinical and research interests include transvenous lead extraction, conduction system pacing, dyssynchrony and arrhythmia-mediated heart failure, and pulsed field ablation. He recently co-authored updated Heart Rhythm Society guidelines, serves on several national electrophysiology advisory boards, and is a leading enroller/publication committee member on multiple ongoing, multi-center, randomized control trials. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf, watching Michigan Wolverines football, and spending time with his wife and 4 children.
