Dr Candice Silversides (MS. MD, FRCPC) is a Professor of Medicine at the University of Toronto and an adjunct professor in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology. She is director of the Pregnancy and Heart Disease program and head of the Obstetric Medicine program at the University of Toronto. She is the Miles Nadal Chair in Pregnancy and Heart Disease. She has >200 publications and has authored chapters on Cardio-Obstetrics in leading Cardiology reference texts including Braunwald’s Heart Disease, Otto’s Textbook of Clinical Echocardiography and Elkayam’s Cardiac Problems in Pregnancy. She has contributed to a number of international practice guidelines and consensus statements including chairing the Canadian Cardiovascular Society Guidelines on Adult Congenital Heart Disease. She was awarded the Kent Ueland distinguished career award for her role in advancing the field of pregnancy and heart disease and the Canadian Cardiovascular Society Achievement Award.
