Dr. Paidas is a board certified Maternal Fetal Medicine specialist in the Richard D. Wood Jr. Center for Fetal Diagnosis and Treatment (CFDT) at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and an Assistant Professor of Clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology in Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. In addition to her clinical role in fetal diagnosis and surgery, Dr. Paidas is the physician lead on the CFDT Psychosocial Support Team (PST), focused on collaborative medical, surgical and mental health care of the expectant parent/family in this unique patient population. She is interested in the various psychological implications of fetal diagnosis and intervention as well as implementation of need-based support strategies into the prenatal care model within a fetal therapy center. Her research endeavors mirror her clinical interests, including psychosocial implications of fetal diagnosis and therapy, collaborative antenatal care and delivery planning in the setting of suspected life-limiting fetal diagnosis and perinatal bereavement and palliative care.
Prior to joining the CFDT team, Dr. Paidas completed her medical degree and a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of South Florida, Morsani College of Medicine, in Tampa, Fla. She subsequently completed a fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Dr. Paidas earned her Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International (PSI).
Dr. Paidas is also a wife and mother of two children. Outside of the hospital, she finds joy in cooking and staying active with her family and friends.
