Larissa van der Windt obtained her medicical degree at the University of Amsterdam in 2020. Already during her studies her interest focused on the field of obstetrics which is why she choose to perform her final scientific internship in this specialty. Once she obtained her medical degree, she started working as a medical doctor at the Obstetrics and Gynaecology department in Zaans Medical Centre and later the Amsterdam University Medical Centre. During this time she remained involved in several prevention of preterm birth studies of the Amsterdam University Medical Centre, resulting in the start of her PhD in the beginning of 2022. Her PhD focusses on the treatment of threatned preterm birth, long-term outcomes of prevention of preterm birth interventions and establishment of a core outcome measurement instrument set for these outcomes.
