Dr. Timothy Immonen is a Maternal Fetal Medicine Fellow at National Institute of Health - Perinatal Research Branch/Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center in Detroit, MI. His research interests include Molecular Biomarkers, Pyelonephritis in Pregnancy, Preeclampsia, Morbidly Adherent Placentation, Cesarean Scar Pregnancy, Post-operative Pain Control after Cesarean Delivery, Opioid Use in Pregnancy and Quality Improvement. He developed a triage system for adequately assigning patients to the correct level of care at his institution. The triage system has been effective in reducing morbidity and mortality associated with transfer times throughout the hospital system. He has authored and lectured several times regarding morbidly adherent placentation and cesarean scar pregnancy. He is the lead author of “Expectant Management of Cesarean Scar Pregnancy”, in Journal of Gynecology and Obstetrics Case Reports. He has presented at prestigious events such as, the 26th Asia and Oceania Federation of Obstetrics and Gynecology in Manilla, Indonesia and the 6th International Conference on Gynecology and Obstetrics in Paris, France. He completed his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine – Carolinas Campus in Spartanburg, South Carolina. He completed residency at SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital where he was awarded Chief Resident status.
