Dr. Yinka Oyelese, MD, FACOG is Director of Obstetric Imaging at Beth Israel Medical Center and Member of the Faculty at Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA.
Dr. Oyelese went to medical school at the University of Ibadan in Nigeria, graduating in 1986. He trained as an ObGyn in Nigeria, following which he moved to London, UK, in 1992, where he trained again, under Professor Stuart Campbell, the father of ultrasound in pregnancy, at St. George’s Hospital, London, specializing in high-risk pregnancy. He moved to the US in 1999, doing his residency in OBGYN at Georgetown University Hospital and his fellowship training in Maternal Fetal Medicine at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School/Rutgers University.
Dr. Oyelese's main interests are prenatal ultrasound with specific expertise on bleeding in pregnancy and placental disorders and prenatal diagnosis. He has published over 100 research papers and book chapters in leading journals and obstetrical textbooks. Most recently, he has written editorials for The American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Ultrasound in Obstetrics & Gynecology. He served as the president of the New Jersey Maternal Fetal Medicine Society and is a reviewer for over 30 journals including the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Ultrasound in Obstetrics & Gynecology, Obstetrics & Gynecology, The British Journal of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Pediatrics, and The Journal of Maternal Fetal and Neonatal Medicine. Dr. Oyelese has also presented his work and frequently lectured nationally and internationally.
In his spare time, Dr. Oyelese is an avid award-winning photographer, musician, and record producer. His photography has been published in several leading photography magazines.
