University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine
My name is Eva Fandozzi and I am an M.D. candidate at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. I am in the Physician Scientist Training Program class of 2026. My clinical and research interests are in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Women's Health, and Infectious Disease. I currently work in Dr. Christina Megli’s lab at the Magee Women’s Research Institute, studying mechanisms of pathogen defense at the maternal-fetal barrier. I am focused specifically on characterizing fetal membrane macrophages and investigating how they protect from vertical transmission or lead to pathology associated with infection.
