Kathryn McKenney, MD, MPH, is an assistant professor and academic specialist in general obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Dr. McKenney completed her professional degrees at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and subsequently OB/GYN training at Northwestern Prentice Women’s Hospital and Stroger Cook County Hospital in Chicago. She then spent three years in practice at Yale New Haven Hospital before moving to Colorado.
Dr. McKenney is the Principal Investigator and Program Director for the University of Colorado Hospital's Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Multi-Disciplinary Program, a DHHS/HRSA-funded collaboration between the Departments of OB/GYN and Psychiatry. This program combines OB/GYN, health psychologist, dietician, and nurse navigator services co-housed within a single specialty clinic. Dr. McKenney's research program centers on guideline implementation and care quality in PCOS. Her team has recently completed focus groups of patient experience in PCOS and has ongoing studies regarding maternal health outcomes of and quality of care in PCOS.
