Michigan State University College of Human Medicine
Alexandria Weymon is a fourth-year medical student at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine at the Grand Rapids Campus. Originally from Holland MI, she began her education journey at Grand Rapids Community College, ultimately earning her Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and Biomedical Science from Grand Valley State University. She entered Michigan State University College of Human Medicine through the Michigan alliance Early Assurance program.
Alexandria has earned four medical scholarships throughout her medical education and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society in 2023. While in medical school, Alexandria served as a Co-Vice President of SNMA, coordinating events hosted by MSU CHM, including Reach Out to Youth. She participated in research with Spectrum Health Maternal-Fetal Medicine throughout her medical training, where she had the opportunity to give an oral presentation at the national meeting for the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine as a second-year medical student.
Alexandria finds immense satisfaction in fostering genuine connections with her patients and is planning a career in Family Medicine, with broad interests in women’s health, mental health, and pediatric well-being. She is passionate about improving access to care for the underserved and improving equity in the healthcare field. She envisions a future where the healthcare system favors patients--believing that the shift begins with healthcare professionals, which she intends to advocate for as a physician. She is hopeful to match at her home program, and eventually practice in her life-long community of West Michigan.
