Nico Tavella, MPH is the research program director for Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. His research background comes primarily from social science and public health, having earned a Master's in Public Health from the University of South Florida in 2019 and currently pursuing a PhD in community health sciences at the City University of New York School of Public Health. His interests lie in the intersections of gender, sexuality, and health that yield disparate clinical outcomes facilitated by biopsychosocial mechanisms. For the past two years he has participated in numerous prospective and retrospective clinical research studies across the division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, taking on leadership roles and assisting with research mentorship of medical students and resident physicians as well as junior clinical research staff.
