Carmen Toomer is currently a MD/MPH candidate at the University of Southern California (USC), Keck School of Medicine. She received her BA in Cognitive Neuroscience and French from Washington Univesity in St. Louis, Missouri. She plans to apply into OBGYN or Emergency Medicine this upcoming fall.
Her research interest lies in health policy, specifically exploring the direct and indirect effects of policies on health outcomes of our nation's most vulnerable populations.
In addition to her research, she has a passion for community advocacy and has taken on leadership positions on the USC Street Medicine Team, the Student National Medical Association of USC, and Keck Scool of Medicine Anti-Racism Taskforce.
