Gabriella Lobitz, MD, is a current third year Obstetrics and Gynecology resident at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson in New Jersey. She attended undergraduate and earned her medical degree from Temple University in Philadelphia. During medical school, Gabriella co-founded and served as president of the school’s first Genetics in Medicine group. Upon arriving at Rutgers, she immediately became involved in leadership, serving as her residency class’s representative during her intern year.
Throughout her residency, Gabriella continues to be heavily involved in her program, joining the Graduate Education Committee. She also serves on the Nulliparous Term Singleton Vertex quality improvement committee where she works closely with the department to improve the rate of avoidable primary cesarean deliveries. As her interest in Maternal Fetal Medicine grew, Gabriella has begun several research pursuits. Currently, she is leading projects investigating the affect mode of delivery has on cardiovascular complications, particularly in patients with pre-existing cardiovascular disease. Gabriella is also leading a study evaluating the meaningful yield between several categories of cell free DNA screens.
Gabriella is passionate and excited about pursuing a career dedicated to improving pregnancy care and plans to apply for Maternal Fetal Medicine Fellowship this coming spring.
