Dr. Amy Crockett, MD, MSPH is a specialist in Maternal Fetal Medicine and professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Prisma Health/University of South Carolina Greenville. She received her undergraduate degree from Princeton University and attended The Ohio State University College of Medicine. Her obstetrical training was done at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas and she completed a fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in Chapel Hill, NC. She also received a MSPH from the UNC College of Public Health the same year.
Dr. Crockett’s main areas of research interest are outpatient obstetrics, prevention of preterm birth and racial equity in birth outcomes. She is currently a co-PI for the Cradle Study, a randomized trial of CenteringPregnancy group prenatal care (R01 HD082311), as well as an ancillary study evaluating biomarkers for women in parent study (PIINC Study, R01 HD092446-01A1).
In addition to her research activities, Dr. Crockett is the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellowship Director. She knows from personal experience that mentoring a fellow or junior faculty project, and cheering them on at SMFM, is even more fun than presenting your own work! Dr. Crockett also serves as the Clinical Lead for the South Carolina Perinatal Quality Collaborative, the Birth Outcomes Initiative.
