Board certified physician in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Maternal-Metal Medicine. I am presently an Associate Professor at the University of
South Florida (USF) in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Division of Maternal-Fetal
Medicine where I also serve as a Division Chief. I am the Medical Director of USF Teratogen Information
Service for the state of Florida (MotherToBaby FL) and the co-director of the USF/ Tampa General
Hospital Fetal Care Center. Previously, I have served on the Food and Drug Administration’s
Nonprescription Drugs Advisory Committee (NDAC) and Makena®.
I received my Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Miami, with a major in
Psychobiology and minors in Chemistry and Religious Studies. I received my Doctor of Medicine degree
in 2006 from the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine. My residency in Obstetrics and
Gynecology was completed in 2010 at George Washington University in Washington, DC, during which
time I served as Administrative Chief Resident (2009-2010). I completed a fellowship in
Teratology/Toxicology through REPROTOX®/ George Washington University in 2012 and received
additional training in fetal echocardiography in Eastern
Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA.
I am a member of various professional organizations including: the Society of Birth Defects
Research and Prevention, where I previously served as a council member on the Board of Directors, the Organization of Teratogen Information Specialists where I served both on the Board of Directors and as President; the RTC (Board of Directors); the Society of Maternal-Fetal Medicine (Publications
committee).
I serve as an associate editor of the Birth Defect Research
journal. I am the medical director for the international Human Teratogens Course.
