Etoi Garrison, MD, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor in the Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Dr Garrison leads the diabetes section for the division of Maternal Fetal Medicine and is responsible for initiatives that will better enable physicians and nursing staff to care of women with gestational and pregestational diabetes in both the inpatient and outpatient setting at VUMC.
Dr Garrison's academic interests include pre-gestational and gestational diabetes, obstetric emergency simulation, and graduate medical education. Dr Garrison also has a strong interest in disparities in health outcomes and healthcare delivery due to race/ ethnicity and language. She is the Vice-chair for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for the Department of OB/Gyn at Vanderbilt and also currently seves as the Director of Equitable Clinical Outcomes for Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Dr Garrison is a specialy and subspecialty oral board examiner for the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and actively contributes to resident and medical student education.
