Jeny Ghartey, D.O., is a board-certified maternal-fetal medicine specialist in both Women’s Health, a clinical partnership between Ascension Seton and UT Health Austin, and the Comprehensive Fetal Care Center, a clinical partnership between Dell Children’s Medical Center and UT Health Austin. She performs prenatal diagnosis, level II ultrasound examinations and high-risk obstetric consultations in outpatient and inpatient settings. She serves as the Maternal Medical Director of Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin, a Level-IV Maternal Care center.
She came to Dell Medical School from the University of Pennsylvania Hospital, where she completed a fellowship in maternal fetal medicine in 2017. Prior to that, she was an assistant professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine for six years. She completed medical school at New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and went on to complete her master’s degree in clinical research methods at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at New York Medical College in 2008.
Ghartey’s research focuses on preterm birth. Her work has been published in journals such as the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the American Journal of Reproductive Immunology and the Journal of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndromes. She is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the Society for Maternal Fetal Medicine, the American Osteopathic Association and the American Medical Association.
