Marcela Smid MD, MA, MS is a board certified Maternal Fetal Medicine and Addiction Medicine physician at the University of Utah. She is the Director of Perinatal Addiction Services and the Medical Director of the Substance Use & Pregnancy – Recovery, Addiction, Dependence (SUPeRAD) specialty prenatal clinic. She is currently serving as the Chair of the Utah Maternal Mortality Review Committee. Her research focus is on perinatal addiction, care models for pregnant and postpartum women with substance use disorders, maternal mortality and maternal mental health.
