Jean-Ju Sheen MD is Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Columbia University Medical Center, as well as the Medical Director of the Carmen and John Thain Labor and Delivery Unit and Director of Obstetric Simulation at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center. She entered the field of maternal-fetal medicine after an established career in general obstetrics and gynecology and education, having received her medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine and her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical College. She then practiced general obstetrics and gynecology and was the Associate Residency Director at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center prior to pursuing her fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center. Dr. Sheen's research and interests have included studies of various maternal medical disorders in addition to patient safety and resident/fellow education through simulation training.
