Ms. Anna K. Jacobs, a dedicated and dynamic Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) candidate from Rocky Vista University (RVU) in Parker, CO, is poised to make significant contributions at the SMFM 2024 Pregnancy Meeting. Anna completed her B.S. in Biomedical Sciences Honors at Colorado State University (CSU) in 2020 with a minor in Spanish. Her commitment to advancing Maternal-Fetal Medicine is evident through her research experiences, notably in Dr. Emily J. Su's laboratory at University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, where she is investigating the impact of fetal growth restriction and maternal hypertension on placental pathology using artificial intelligence (AI) technology. She previously worked as a laboratory assistant under Dr. Russ V. Anthony, who is a renowned scientist utilizing novel techniques including CRISPR-Cas9 to investigate fetal growth restriction. Her extensive research contributions make her a valuable participant in the upcoming SMFM Pregnancy Meeting, where she is slated to present her work on AI-driven precision pathology.
Beyond her academic pursuits, Anna has actively engaged in service and leadership roles, underscoring her commitment to community health. Notably, she is an active member of Medical Students for Choice (MSFC), where she volunteers with SafeHouse Denver, offering support to survivors of domestic violence. Anna's leadership roles in various medical student organizations, including serving as the National Liaison Officer for the Student Osteopathic Medical Association (SOMA), demonstrate her commitment to fostering collaboration and growth within the medical community.
Anna's diverse skill set extends beyond medicine, as she is an accomplished artist with a lifelong passion for painting and sketching.
