Iffath Abbasi Hoskins, MD. is a Maternal Fetal Medicine subspecialist and is Director, Patient Safety, Dept. of Ob/Gyn. at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. She completed Residency in Psychiatry in DC and Ob/Gyn Residency and Fellowship at Uniformed Services University, MD.
She has been co-director of Medical Genetics Fellowship at NIH, Chair and Residency Program Director in 2 New York Hospitals and Executive Director, Women's Health at Memorial Health in Savannah, GA. She has served in the US Navy and Marine Corps Reserves, retiring as Captain (06). She has received numerous awards for military leadership. She has held several leadership roles and has served on Committees and Task Forces in AMA, American Academy of Pediatrics, American College of Surgeons, March of Dimes, Ronald McDonald House, ACOG (NY and GA Districts, and National). She has served on the Navy Secretary's Policy Planning Board at Pentagon and had been appointed by Gov. Purdue of GA to the Dept. of Human Services which oversees all health care in GA. She has published extensively and received numerous grants and awards for Research, Clinical Care and Graduate Medical Education.
She and her husband have a translational research lab dedicated to their efforts towards Women's Health (William & Iffath Hoskins Center for Biomedical Research), at Mercer University, Savannah, GA campus. She is currently ACOG President Elect, in nomination, 2021-2022.
