Clinical Professor Mauricio Carrillo received his medical doctor degree (in 1991) from the Colombian School of Medicine in Bogotá, Colombia. After, he subspecialized in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at San José Hospital in Bogotá, Colombia. In 2019, Dr. Carrillo obtained a graduate diploma in Clinical Epidemiology at McMaster University in Hamilton, Canada.
In the early years of his career, Dr. Carrillo was a Professor at El Bosque University and the Maternal Fetal unit at Simon Bolivar Hospital. Since 2019, he has been a Clinical Professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Los Andes University. His role led to supervising more than 12 postgraduate medical students' research projects on various topics within Maternal-Fetal Medicine. Additionally, he works in the Maternal Fetal unit at Fundación Santa Fe de Bogotá Hospital.
His research interests are prevention and predictions of preeclampsia, intrauterine growth restriction, fetal Doppler, and first-trimester fetal ultrasound.
