Maternal Fetal Medicine Fellow, PGY-7
University of Florida
I am a Maternal Fetal Medicine Fellow in the Departments of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Florida (UF). I am a board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. My clinical interest is in how maternity care is delivered outside of tertiary care centers. During fellowship, my research will focus on placenta accreta spectrum disorders. The ability to diagnose placenta accreta spectrum (PAS) prior to delivery is essential in order to determine location of delivery for patients who do not live near a tertiary care center thus linking PAS with my ultimate interest in maternity care at the community level.
Due to my commitment to patient care and education, I decided to return to a maternal fetal medicine fellowship after nine years of practice as a generalist in obstetrics and gynecology at a level 2b facility. I worked for Intermountain Healthcare where I was a member of hospital and corporate multidisciplinary teams. I also served as a rural site for the University of Utah obstetrics and gynecology third year medical student clinical rotation. By interacting with learners, my desire to contribute to the field of obstetrics and gynecology was renewed.
