Kara Rood, MD, graduated from Saba University School of Medicine and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Yale New Haven Health Bridgeport Hospital. Dr. Rood went on to complete fellowships in Maternal Fetal Medicine and Addiction Medicine at The Ohio State University. Dr. Rood is currently the Medical Director of McCampbell Hall Ambulatory Care and Medical Director of Substance Treatment Education and Prevention Program (STEPP) at The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center. She has a strong interest in decreasing severe maternal morbidity and mortality and is active member of Ohio Department Of Health Pregnancy-Associated Mortality Review Board. Much of her work has focused on implementation, dissemination and education supporting evidence based guidelines to achieve this goal.
