Maternal Fetal Medicine Fellow

Courtney Marie Bisson is a second year Maternal Fetal Medicine fellow at the University of Chicago/NorthShore University Health System. She completed her undergraduate training at Texas Christian University where she majored in Biology and minored in Chemistry/Spanish. During this time she worked in the lab of Dr. Mike Chumley studying the role of inflammation in the development of dementia. After graduation she began medical school at the University of Oklahoma where she also completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology. She then moved to Chicago for fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine at the University of Chicago/NorthShore University Health System. During her time in fellowship she has presented at multple conferences including the District VI American College of Obstetricians-Gynecologists annual meeting and the International Society for the Study of Hypertension in Pregnancy. Her research interests include preeclampsia in the postpartum period, patient understanding of disease and barriers to care, and longterm impacts on patient health outcomes. She is concurrently completing her Master's of Science for Clinical Professionals degree and hopes to continue her advocacy and quality improvement work in her future career.
