Maged Costantine, MD is currently a Professor and Maternal Fetal Medicine Division Director at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Dr. Costantine earned his medical degree from the American University of Beirut and completed his OB/GYN residency training at the University of Cincinnati. He then received Maternal Fetal Medicine fellowship training at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston Texas. Following fellowship, he joined the faculty at UTMB until 2019, when he transitioned to the Ohio State University as the Director of the Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine and the Frederick P. Zuspan Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Costantine is an active clinical investigator, having published over 130 scholarly articles and book chapters. His primary research interests are hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, the role of statins in prevention of preeclampsia, as well as perinatal pharmacology in general. He is currently the Principal Investigator for OSU’s participation in the NICHD Maternal Fetal Medicine Units Network where he is the Principal Investigator and IND holder for NICHD/NHLBI sponsored trial of pravastatin to prevent preeclampsia in high-risk women. Additionally, he is the PI or site PI on numerous multicenter government and industry sponsored trials in obstetrics. Additionally, he is an associate editor for American Journal of Perinatology, and active member of the Society for Maternal Fetal Medicine.
