OBGYN Resident
NYP-Brooklyn Methodist Hospital
Dvora Kluwgant MD, MPH is a second year Obstetrics and Gynecology resident at New York Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, NY.
Dvora was born in Johannesburg, South Africa and grew up in Florida. She completed her undergraduate studies at Stern College in NYC, after which she moved to Israel to attend medical school at the Medical School for International Health at Ben Gurion University. During medical school, she had the unique opportunity of being exposed to women's health in various cultural and geographic contexts (including Australia, The Middle East, South Africa, and West Africa) and fell in love with obstetrics. After medical school, she completed a Masters in Public Health at the University of Melbourne in Melbourne, Australia, which allowed her to further contextualize women's health and understand how pregnancy impacts women and their communities on a larger scale.
Along the way, Dvora has been fortunate enough to be exposed to wonderful MFM mentors and has been involved in a number of research projects ranging from qualitative reviews of women's experiences of birthing during the Coronavirus pandemic to large meta-analyses on government maternity care guidelines.
Dvora completed her first year of residency in Mcallen Texas, where she was able to work with migrant communities on the Mexico-US border and is now a second-year resident in Brooklyn, NY, where she helps provide care to a diverse population. Dvora hopes to specialize in Maternal Fetal Medicine after finishing residency, and is excited to be attending SFMF for the first time this year!
