Tanner Gregory Wright is a board certified general pediatrician at the University of South Florida where he works as a neonatal hospitalist at Tampa General Hospital. His focus of interest is with maternal-infant dyads with pregnancies affected by substance use and opioid use disorder. Dr. Wright is the medical director for the PEDI Clinic (Promoting Early Developmental Intervention) at Mary Lee's House, where he follows these dyads throughout early childhood. He acts as a lead subject matter expert for the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Maternal-Infant Health and Opioid Use Collaborative. Dr. Wright works closely with treatment centers and community resources to advocate on behalf of families affected by substance use. His research endeavors have led to multiple research grant initiatives, an NIH sub-award, and a CDC grant for data analysis of maternal-infant dyads affected by opioid use as part of a USF team. Clinically the PEDI Clinic was honored as a recipient of the Model Practice of Excellence Award by the AAP for its work with families affected by opioid use.
