Gabriel Arenas, MD is a second year Maternal-Fetal Medicine fellow at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He is originally from Chicago, IL where he completed medical school at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and OBGYN residency at the University of Chicago. Currently, he is pursuing a Master of Science in Translational Research and working with the Penn Center for Innovation to create a novel method to improve postpartum contraception efficacy. His clinical and research interests include incorporating serum and imaging biomarkers into predictive modeling to risk stratify patients with respect to maternal and perinatal adverse outcomes. His additional interests include leveraging artificial intelligence with precision medicine to improve prenatal care, predicting disease progression in hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, and understanding in vivo placental features as they relate to adverse perinatal outcomes.
