Will Williams is an MFM physician at Ochsner Health. A native Alabamian, his first global health experiences came during medical school at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he paired his medical schoo training with a degree in public health. In 2011, he spent a year with the Centre for Infectious Disease Research in Zambia working on a health system strengthening project aiming to improve primary and antenatal care through mentoring and assessment. As an MFM fellow at the University of Vermont, he was awarded the Queenan Fellowship in Global Health for his investigator-initiated project studying maternal breastmilk characteristics that influence rotavirus vaccine response among infants in Bangladesh. Since graduating from fellowship in 2020, he has remained active in global health through his work with Imaging the World - Africa, an organization that is expanding access to prenatal ultrasound in rural east Africa. He currently lives with his wife and four children in New Orleans.
