Ahizechukwu Eke, MD PhD MPH, is an Associate Professor of Maternal Fetal Medicine in the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He is triple-board certified (in Obstetrics & Gynecology, Clinical Pharmacology, and Maternal Fetal Medicine).
Dr Eke's research interests include understanding the pharmacokinetics (PK), pharmacodynamics (PD), pharmacoepidemiology, pharmacogenomics, and pharmacomicrobiomics of drug use in pregnant women. He serves as a member of the FDA Advisory Committee on 17-alpha hydroxyprogesterone caproate (Makena), and a committee member on the NIH’s Task Force on Research Specific to Pregnant Women and Lactating Women (PRGLAC). Dr Eke sits on the Pfizer International Advisory Board for the development of COVID-19 vaccines in pregnant women. He has served the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) in numerous leadership positions, currently serving on the ACOG National Clinical Practice Bulletins Committee, and on several other national and international OBGYN committees, including an Editorial Board member of Obstetrics & Gynecology (the Green Journal) and the New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM).
