Dr. Ashlesha K. Dayal is a Maternal Fetal Medicine specialist, Vice chief of Obstetrics at New York Presbyterian/Queens, in Flushing, NY and an Associate Professor of Clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology at Weill Cornell Medical College. She focuses her clinical efforts on maternal safety, patient safety and decreasing perinatal morbidity, particularly in the labor and delivery setting. Dr. Dayal has been on the Preterm Birth Task Force, the 17P Committee, Sepsis workgroup and Cardiac Disease in Pregnancy workgroup and serves as the Chair of Section 3 of District 2 ACOG. She is Vice Chief of Obstetrics at New York Presbyterian/ Queens and is the Associate Program Director for the Weill Cornell ObGyn Residency Training Program-site director for NYP/Queens Hospital. . Dr. Dayal received her medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine from the Six Year BA/MD Program and completed her residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, New Hyde Park NY. She completed her fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, NY, practiced clinically and was Director of Labor and Delivery at Montefiore Medical Center for many years. Dr. Dayal is integrally involved in post graduate trainee education/ curriculum development in obstetrics and clinical high risk obstetric care-- intrapartum and outpatient. Dr. Dayal is a member of the Quality Committee in the Ob/Gyn department and the Patient Safety Committee at New York Presbyterian/ Queens and directs the Obstetrics Simulation program at NYPQ. Dr. Dayal presently is an associate team leader for the Voluntary Review of Quality Committee for ACOG, which she has participated with since 2019.
