Fellow Physician
University of New Mexico
Hello, My name is Madhurima (Rima) Keerthy, MD,FACOG (She/her) and I am a third year MFM fellow at University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, NM. I am excited to be a part of this year's SMFM annual meeting and to present my work regarding Obstetric Transports in our state. Briefly about my background, I grew up in India in a small town. My father is a pediatrician and runs his own rural practice. My mother was trained as a software engineer but chose to stay at home to support all of us in our hectic lives. I have one younger sister, Renu Jayakrishnan, who is currently a Biomedical Engineer.
I completed my residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Henry Ford Health System-Wayne State University program in Detroit, MI. After graduation, I worked as an OB hospitalist for 6 years prior to starting my Fellowship. I am grateful for this experience as it has helped me understand the perspective of a delivering obstetrician and gave me immense hands-on experience.
After my fellowship, I plan to stay in Albuquerque and serve the community via Private practice that allows for rural outreach and remote MFM care. I strongly believe I can make a difference in the overall Maternal Morbidity and Mortality of our state by being a part of the MFM community. I am currently active in SMFM as a member of Coding Committee and hope to continue to contribute in future.
It has been an honor and blessing to be a part of this meeting this year and I look forward to making new connections.
