Dr. Borders is a Maternal Fetal Medicine Physician with NorthShore University HealthSystem (Endeavor Health) Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and is a Clinical Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine. Dr. Borders received an MSc degree in Health Policy from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, and an MD from Harvard Medical School. She completed a Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellowship, a NRSA Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Health Services Research and an MPH degree at Northwestern University. She is the Executive Director and Obstetric Lead for the Illinois Perinatal Quality Collaborative, a collaborative of over 100 birthing hospitals focused on improving outcomes and equity for birthing persons and newborns. She serves on the Illinois Perinatal Quality Committee, Maternal Health Task Force and Maternal Mortality Review Committee. She is a prior member of the ACOG Committee on Obstetric Practice and the Committee on Patient Safety and Quality Improvement. She also serves on the National Network of Perinatal Quality Collaboratives Executive Committee and the SMFM Patienty Safety and Quality Committee. She is an NIH, PCORI, CDC - funded researcher with a focus on investigating mechanisms and interventions to address perinatal disparities in birth outcomes.
