Ciara is a second year resident in Obstetrics and Gynecology, practicing under the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland (RCPI), having worked in O&G for 3 years. She spent one year training outside of residency in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Dept of Fiona Stanley Hospital in Perth, Australia prior to returning to Ireland for her residency. During her time in Perth, Ciara was awarded 2022 Inaugural Resident of the Year.
Ciara's alma matter is RCSI, where she graduated with an Honors degree and the gold medal in Obstetrics and Gynecology, as well as achieving 3rd prize in the country (Ireland) having been invited to undergo the nationwide Obstetrics medal examination held by the National Univeristy of Ireland (NUI) Undergraduate Awards in 2019.
She spent her medical school career volunteering at a major Obstetric center and carrying out research as a student, including her first SMFM poster 'Euploid first trimester cystic hygroma - A more benign entity than previously thought?' in 2019, resulting in a paper published in Fetal Diagnosis and Therapy in 2021.
