Malitha Patabendige, MBBS, MD (he/him/his)

PhD candidate
Monash University, Australia

I am Malitha Patabendige, MBBS (Hons), MD (O & G), a fully qualified specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in Sri Lanka. In addition to my training in Sri Lanka, I have been working at Monash Health as a registrar in Obstetrics and Gynaecology since August 2022. Currently, I am a final year PhD candidate at Monash University, Melbourne, Australia, and working on a few projects on induction of labour.

I have been engaged in regular teaching sessions to medical, nursing and midwifery staff at the national level in Sri Lanka and as a teaching associate at Monash University, Australia. I have 44 publications as full papers, 20 scientific presentations as abstracts and one chapter in a book.

I am passionate about research on obstetrics and gynaecology, as well as related clinical work and teaching. My goal is to be a clinician who can work as an academic Obstetrician and Gynaecologist to uplift women’s health globally. My email: mpatabendige@gmail.com | WhataApp: +61416 627 061
