Adam Lewkowitz, MD, MPHS is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Brown Unviersity / Women & Infants Hospital of Rhode Island (WIH). Born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, Dr. Lewkowitz graduated from Amherst College with a bachelors degree in Spanish and sociology and was a Fulbright Research Scholar in Mexico and Fogarty International Clinical Research Scholar in China before earning his medical degree at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. He completed residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of California, San Francisco and fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis (Barnes-Jewish Hospital). During fellowship, he completed a Masters in Population Health Sciences, with a focus in Health Services research. He joined Women & Infants Hospital of Rhode Island and The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University after graduating from MFM fellowship in 2019.
Dr. Lewkowitz’s research and clinical interests include leveraging technology to increase health equity and improve health outcomes for perinatal people, particularly after delivery. He has published extensively in this area as well as on clinical epidemiology and obstetrics. He is also passionate about resident and fellow clinical training and currently is the Associate MFM Fellowship Director at Brown / WIH.
