Timothy Wen, MD, MPH, is a current fourth year Maternal Fetal Medicine and Clinical Informatics combined fellow at the University of California, San Francisco. He studied Biology and Political Science at UCLA and completed his Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University. Following medical school at the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California, he returned to New York City for residency training at New York Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center. He has had a longstanding interest in using large data sources to understand the epidemiology and improve obstetric care. His current research focuses on developing and implementing risk prediction/stratification algorithms in the electronic health record (EHR), interventions and optimizations in the EHR, and leveraging EHR data and platform to optimize and improve care.
