She will finish her fellowship program in June 2024.
She completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Michigan in 2020, after receiving her M.D. and Ph.D. (in Sociolinguistics) from Michigan State University’s dual degree program. During her residency, she was a Resident Scholar selected by the Foundation for SMFM. She has a background in the study of health communication, which she applies to both research and quality improvement initiatives in Maternal-Fetal Medicine. She holds a Ruth L. Kirschstein Institutional National Research Service Award (T32) from the National Institutes of Health for the study of hypertension in pregnancy and its effects on cardiovascular risk through the lifespan. Her present work is focused on the pathophysiologic characterization of preeclampsia super-imposed on chronic hypertension. Her longterm interests include the optimization of cardiovascular care during pregnancy and the development of patient-oriented counseling protocols to facilitate permpartum transitions for women with known cardiac disease as well as risk factors for cardiovascular events.
