Sarah Osmundson, MD, MS
I am an Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology in the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center with a clinical focus on caring for pregnant patients with complex medical problems. My research examines postpartum care for pregnant patients including opioid use and management of hypertension and is focused on developing novel models of care. In collaboration with researchers from health policy, biostatistics, bioinformatics, public health, and pediatrics, my research also examines the impact of medication exposures in pregnancy and the postpartum period. I am a collaborator on several longitudinal studies enrolling pregnant patients and following their offspring during early childhood. My research is funded through the National Institutes of Health (NIDA, NICHD, and NINR). At a national level, I serve as a Board Member for the Society for Maternal Fetal Medicine and have previously written committee opinions as a member of the SMFM Publications Committee.
