Vanderbilt University Medical Center
Miss Olivia Bosworth is a third year undergraduate at Vanderbilt University, majoring in Medicine, Health, and Society and History on the pre-medical track. Her postgraduate goals are to attend medical school and become a maternal-fetal medicine specialist. Her research at Vanderbilt examines the associations between maternal opioid use and gestational age under the mentorship of Dr. Sarah Osmundson. This past summer, Miss Bosworth was a Summer Fellow at Oregon Health & Science University in the Kroenke Neuroscience Lab. She processed and analyzed fMRI images to find and compare resting state networks in infant brains. In addition to her research, Miss Bosworth has shadowed in the Internal Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and NICU departments, volunteered at the Vanderbilt Clinic, Pinson Hospitality House, and Ascension Hospital, taught health lessons to local public schools, and served as Community Service Chair for MEDLIFE. She is currently immersed in a year-long study abroad program at University College London while volunteering as a Clinical Assistant at the London Pregnancy Clinic. Miss Bosworth is looking forward to presenting her findings in her project “Prescription Opioid Exposure During Pregnancy and Risk of Spontaneous Preterm Delivery” and learn from fellow researchers during this conference.
