Maternal Mortality and Severe Maternal Morbidity (SMM) continues to rise in the United States. Lecture-based courses are helpful to update providers on new treatments and interventions. But, simulation training remains a critical way to integrate and cement that knowledge through hands-on practice. We feel the timing is important given that simulation opportunities have been hampered over the past several years secondary to COVID-pandemic restrictions.
This simulation training course will divide participants into teams that will rotate through four different critical care scenario/stations. Each station will have two different simulation the participant must complete. In addition, two skills stations which will teach skills intraosseous access (IO) and compression sutures for postpartum hemorrhage.
