This course is designed to equip MFMs involved or planning to become involved in implementing maternal safety and quality improvement in their ambulatory settings, including telemedicine, with practical tools and metrics.

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe strategies to improve patient safety in the ambulatory setting.
  • Explain how health equity and patient-centered care can be integrated into quality improvement and safety strategies in the ambulatory setting.
  • Outline the key components for optimizing the delivery of telemedicine services.
  • Differentiate the approach to ambulatory care for high-risk conditions requiring multidisciplinary care.
  • Explain how to develop and track patient safety metrics in the ambulatory setting.
  • Explain the importance of organizing an ambulatory quality review committee.
