This course is designed to showcase the benefits of maternal-fetal medicine and pediatric radiology working collaboratively to advance the field of prenatal diagnosis and ultimately the management of pregnancies complicated by fetal anomalies. The program will feature talks from both maternal-fetal medicine physicians and pediatric radiologists. The presentations will highlight the complementary advantages of utilizing both fetal MRI and ultrasound to achieve comprehensive fetal imaging. The course includes talks discussing both normal and abnormal anatomy of the fetal brain, face, neck, heart, chest, abdomen, pelvis and skeleton. This course is designed to highlight the important relationship between maternal-fetal medicine and pediatric radiology to help make the most accurate diagnosis of conditions affecting the fetus.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify when and why an MRI should be considered to further evaluate the fetal disorders.
  • Recognize how collaboration between MFM and Pediatric Radiology can help make the most accurate diagnosis in the fetus.
  • Define how fetal imaging can assist in making optimal antenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum plans for both the fetus and mother.
