About SMFMSMFM is the leading provider of clinical guidance, education and advocacy for maternal-fetal medicine professionals and their patients. For more than 40 years, SMFM has remained the only professional society exclusively focused on maternal and fetal medicine. Our improvements in CME education over the last decade have produced record attendance levels at our events and online education and brought opportunities to partner with renowned organizations nationwide. SMFM operates under the strictest scientific integrity leading to a widespread loyalty among members and learners.
While the Postgraduate Course curriculum offers education in a variety of topic areas, the agenda includes education objectives and topics in the areas of genetic screening and diagnostics, medical management and complications during pregnancy, risk management strategies and critical care, record efficiency and data analytics, quality improvement and safety outcomes, institutional advocacy, and equitable approaches to reproductive health services within the practice of maternal-fetal medicine.

Overall Meeting Learning ObjectivesAfter attending SMFM 2024, whether as an in-person attendee or learning via enduring products, the learn should be able to:
- Increase awareness, share current knowledge, and review state-of-the-art research and guidance of critical maternal and fetal medicine issues.
- Employ the knowledge gained regarding diagnosis and management strategies and implement prevention and intervention practices in complicated pregnancy cases to ensure optimal care for patients.
- Demonstrate abilities to address bias and care inequities and develop or expand advocacy efforts for disparities impacting health services within the practice of maternal-fetal medicine.
- Utilize necessary approaches to promote safe and healthy growth and development of pregnant women and their unborn children in all gestational states.
- Network and collaborate with multi-disciplinary providers and experts to provide support for the protection and expansion of reproductive health resources and tools.
The Global Learning CollaborativeThe Global Learning Collaborative (GLC) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education and is an independent medical education provider that develops, delivers, and measures CME across a broad spectrum of diseases and clinical conditions. GLC provides the highest-quality learning experience and can be seen in the below three principles that guide the creation of each CME activity:
